Energy Club

The Ministry of Non-conventional Energy Sources (MNES), Government of India is promoting Energy Clubs in all Engineering Colleges, with a view to create awareness among the students and general public in villages around the college about Environment friendly renewable energy technologies.

It is the need for a common platform for students to come together and turn their concern into action, which brought the Energy Club into existence. A group of energy conscious students with the backing of the faculty decided to start a formal Club that would make energy awareness and action it’s priority and combine the ideas and concern of students across campus into tangible steps towards energy and sustainability.

Music Club

    KONGUNADU MUSIC CLUB

Rhythms:

Music is strongly linked to motivation and to human social contact. Only a portion of people may play music, but all can, and do, at least sing or hum a tune. Music is like breathing—all pervasive. Music is a core human experience and a generative process that reflects cognitive capabilities. Cognitive systems also underlie musical performance and sensibilities.

Moto:

Kongunadu music club focusing on the intersection between the neuroscience of music, and human social functioning to illustrate the importance of music to human behaviors and happiness.

National Service Scheme (NSS)

The National Service Scheme (NSS), sponsored by the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Government of India, formally launched in Mahatma Gandhiji's Centenary year, 1969 to develop the student's personality through community oriented services.  As a part of the academic programme National Service Scheme (NSS) has been functioning as a regular feature in our college campus, organizing blood donation camps, free eye camps and other social awareness programmes . First Aid awareness programmes and AIDS awareness programmes are also organized. Engaging in social activity to bridge the gap between the fortunate and the less fortunate through empowerment is the main focus of NSS activity.

NSS MOTO

"Not me, but you"

The symbol of the National Service Scheme, as appearing on the cover page of this Manual is based on the ' Rath ' wheel of the Konark Sun Temple situated in Orissa. These giant wheels of the Sun Temple portray the cycle of creation, preservation and release, and signify the movement in life across time and space.

The design of the symbol, a simplified form of the Sun-chariot wheel primarily depicts movement. The wheel signifies the progressive cycle of life. It stands for continuity as well as change and implies the continuous striving of NSS for social transformation and upliftment.

NSS DAY

NSS was formally launched on 24th September, 1969, the birth centenary year of the Father of the Nation. Therefore, 24th September is celebrated every year as NSS Day with appropriate programmes and activities.

OBJECTIVE OF NSS

  1.    To enable the students to understand the community in which they work.
  2.    To understand themselves in relation to their community.
  3.    To identify the needs and problems in the community in the solution of which they can be involved.
  4.    To develop among themselves a sense of social and civic responsibility.
  5.    To apply their education in finding practical solution to individual and community problems.
  6.    To develop competence required for group living and sharing responsibilities.
  7.    Gain skills in mobilizing community participation.
  8.    To acquire leadership qualities and democratic attitude.
  9.    To develop capacity to meet emergencies and national disasters and
  10.    To practice national integration.
