At Kongunadu, the civil engineering students’ learning environment is entirely different from other colleges. The Faculty members as well as the students of our department attend conferences, seminars, training and workshops to know about the recent trends, developments and application in the field of Civil Engineering.

Class Advisor
A faculty member has been assigned to act as advisor for each class to monitor the students’ learning activities and identify their problems either personal or academic. He has the responsibility to bring that class to be a best one in all aspects.
Counselor
The Department Counseling system provides individual and confidential advice for the students. Each faculty member is having 15 to 20 students’ under his monitoring. The Counseling system helps to solve the students’ personal problems that may affect their regular life style. The Counselors are trained to find the best way to help the students with their problem via collaborative and sensitive discussions
e-Learning
The department has a WiFi learning environment system which creates the interest to the student to get online material given by lecturers, download papers , online tests, subject relevant audio and video material to access themselves.
Labs and Science Facilities
The department of Civil Engineering has fully equipped lab facilities with well-trained lab instructor for the betterment of students’ to enhance the practical knowledge.

Profile
The Department of Civil Engineering was started in the year 2010. It offers an under graduate course in Civil Engineering with an intake of 120 students
Our main goal is to be the centre of excellence for the development and dissemination of knowledge in Structural Engineering, Construction Engineering and Management, Water Resources and Management, Transportation, Environmental Engineering, Urban Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Remote sensing, GIS and its applications. The Department has good infrastructure and it is well equipped with state- of- the art laboratory facilities necessary for imparting high quality education and is structured to meet our present day needs of the Civil Engineering field. Students from our department have always proved to be meritorious.
The department has well experienced and qualified faculty members who are regularly presenting papers in national and international conferences and publishing their technical papers in reputed journals.
The department actively promotes curriculum development activities by updating existing courses, developing new courses and preparing resource material for teaching. The department is also very active in conducting conferences, workshops, seminars, short term training programmes and visits to industries, construction sites and environmental field. Visits are arranged regularly to impart technical education to the students more effectively. Wi-Fi enabled internet facilities are available in the department. Students are motivated to do mini projects to improve their practical knowledge. Students are encouraged to undergo internship under fast track scheme to improve their placement prospects. Soft skill training programmes offered by placement cell and various programmes are arranged to enhance their communication and general aptitude skills.
A department higher education cell is effectively functioning to identify the students who are seeking PG admissions and provide proper guidance to crack GATE and TANCET examinations
Alumni Association
Alumni Association of Kongunadu College of Engineering & Technology was inaugurated in the year 2014 with the 2011, 2012 and 2013 batch graduates as members. All the graduates of this college are inducted as Life members of the association. The main objective of the Association is to create a forum to bring together and facilitate the exchange of information amongest its members and to give opportunities for its members to have a firm link between all its members.
The association is proud to see many of its members serving most of the countries in the world. The Management, Principal and the Faculty members are very glad at the outstanding performance of the alumni. The association appreciates all the alumni who have taken their efforts for serving the Placement cell of our college.

Kongunadu IAS Academy
In Democratic India, Civil services are the one of the main pillar to runs all the departments in the central and state governments’ administration. For effective administration, governments require efficient management of its natural, economic and human resources. In fact, civil services offer a unique career opportunity combined with constructive challenges and high growth prospects.
Kongunadu IAS academy is established to create awareness about civil services exam for the rural based students to take up challenges of it. The academy provides an opportunity to serve the country through proper guidance and training.

The minimum requirements for admission to B.E. / B.Tech. Programmes are :

Candidates for the admission to the first semester of the Master's Degree Programme shall be required to have passed an appropriate Degree Examination of Anna University or any other examination of any University or authority accepted by the Syndicate of Anna University as equivalent thereto.
List of Original certificates along with two sets of attested copies to be produced at the time of admission for UG courses:
