Figure 2 1:10 Scale Physical Model of Electrostatic Precipitator of 3x210MW Mejia Power Plant

Description:

  • The model was developed in collaboration with TryCAE Industrial Engineering Pvt. Ltd., Trichy, as part of a consultancy project valued Rs. 5, 00,000.
  • The primary objective of this model is to measure the pressure drop and velocity reduction in the Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP), based on an existing model. The prototype consists of two units, each powered by 30 HP motor and equipped with a centrifugal fan.
  • Each unit contains guide vanes, positioned within the duct at points where the airflow direction changes. Additionally, a hopper is incorporated to collect dust particles.
  • A GD screen is placed in front of the ESP cone to regulate airflow velocity, with its design modified to meet the required dimensions.
  • Inside the ESP, MDF sheets are used to diffuse dust particles, which are then collected in the hopper. Each unit also includes an exhaust duct to expel the filtered air.
  • This consultancy service aims to validate the design of ESP using 1:10 scale models, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency before full-scale installation.
  • A scaled-down prototype (1:10) is developed and tested to assess performance. Subsequent full-scale implementation issues prompt iterative re-testing of the model, incorporating reverse engineering methodologies to refine design parameters

Cisco is the worldwide leader in IT that helps companies seize the opportunities of tomorrow by proving that amazing things can happen when you connect to the internet. This tradition process continues with industry leading products in the core areas of routing and switching, as well as advanced technologies in the areas such as Unified Communications, Network Security, Video, Virtualization and Cloud Computing.

To make the students know about the basics of networking and its essentials, this CISCO certification course has been started in our institution. The Faculty members got trained with Cisco sponsored academy and have been appointed as a trainee.

Certification Courses Included In Cisco

CCNA: (Cisco Certified Network Associate)

  • Module 1: Introduction to networks
  • Module 2: Routing and Switching Essentials
  • Module 3: Scaling Networks
  • Module 4: Connecting Networks

Emerging Trend Courses In Cisco:

  • CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional)
  • CCNP- Cloud, Collaboration, Security, Service Provider, Wireless and IoT

Through this certification course we train the students to learn the techniques used in networks and how to configure switch and router using simulation with different scenario. Highly technological devices are given to students during the course to get practice with real devices before completing the course.

Graduates from various disciplines like Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science Engineering and Information Technology are getting trained through trainees.

COE :Data Science and Big Data Analytics Lab

With fast growing volumes of data in our world, the use of big data will become a key to accelerate productivity growth. Data and big data analytics are fast becoming the lifeblood of any successful business. Organizations are on the hunt for data scientists and analysts with expertise in the techniques required to analyze big data. They also need big data systems architects to translate requirements into systems, data engineers to build data pipelines, developers who know their way around Hadoop clusters and other technologies, and systems administrators and managers to tie everything together

The Department of CSE & IT have established Centre of Excellence in association with Dell EMC through ICTACT, to provide Industry oriented software training and certifications to the students and faculty members.

Features of this COE

  • Become an immediate contributor on a data science team
  • Assist reframing a business challenge as an analytics challenge
  • Deploy a structured life cycle approach to data analytics problems
  • Apply appropriate analytic techniques and tools to analyze BigData
  • Use open source tools such as R, Hadoop, and Postgres
  • Prepare for EMC Proven Professional Data Scientist certification
