About Office of the Controller of Examinations

The office of the Controller of Examinations was established in the year 2019 after the conferment of Autonomous status to the college by UGC. It is vested with the responsibility of organizing and conducting End Semester Examinations for all UG and PG programmes offered by the College. The Controller of Examinations (CoE) office is responsible for the announcement of academic calendar which includes all the academic related activities, conducting the End semester examinations, Processing and publishing results in time. Compile Grades and declare results after approval by Result Passing Board (RPB), Issuing certificates such as Statement of Grade, Consolidated Statements of Grade. Sending a list of successful candidate with their Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) to the Anna University, Chennai for issuing Provisional and Degree Certificate. Every academic year, students take up End semester examinations in November and April. The Controller of Examination also ensures a smooth functioning of the continuous assessment tests. Other responsibilities of this office are addressing grievances of students on examination related issues and to execute the planned developmental activities of this office including Board of Studies, Academic Council, and Governing Council etc

DEPARTMENT OF BIO-MEDICAL ENGINEERING

The department was established in the year 2020 with a vision to address the prevailing health sector challenges. This four year degree programme on Biomedical engineering will nurture the young minds with fundamental knowledge of Biological sciences such as Human Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology and Microbiology. With this the student would also gain knowledge about Electronics, Measurements and Instrumentation to Design, Analyze, Synthesize and Evaluate the Diagnostic and Therapeutic equipments such as X-ray, CT, MRI, PET, Ventilators, Pacemakers, Dialyzer to serve the Medical community. The students will be guided to have periodical visits to the hospitals for bridging the gap between the class room learning and the real time issues.
Prosthetic devices for the physically challenged, Therapeutic equipments to replace the conventional medicines will also be part of the learning to this stream of engineers. This department has a well established relationship with industrial experts and physicians of different expertise to keep itself updated and live up to the expectations of the contemporary world.

Internal Complaints Committee(ICC) on Sexual harassment

            Kongunadu College of Engineering and Technology is committed to provide safe academic and working environment to all girl students and its women employees. As per the guidelines of Supreme Court, UGC, Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace(Prevention, Prohibition & Redressal) Act, 2013, an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) on Sexual Harassment  has been established by the college in the year  2015. This committee has been constituted under the policy  prevention and punishment for sexual harassment of women at workplace

Mechanism and Composition of ICC on Sexual Harassment

1. The mechanism for registering complaints should be safe, accessible and sensitive.
2. A complaint of discrimination or sexual harassment may be lodged by the victim or a third party
3. If the complain wishes she can be accompanied by a representative.
4. All complaints made to any committee member must be received and recorded by the member, who shall then inform the chairperson about the complaint, who in turn shall call for a meeting of the committee.
5. Within three days of the receipt of a complaint, the ICC on Sexual Harassment must determine whether a prima facie case of sexual harassment is made out. It shall carefully consider the complaint and may hear the complaint and the defendant and/or any other relevant person to determine whether an enquiry by the committee is to be instituted. If the committee considers it necessary to hear the defendant at the preliminary stage it shall start the enquiry process.
6. If the committee against sexual harassment decides not to conduct an enquiry into a complaint it shall record the reasons for the same in the minutes of the committee meeting. The committee shall make the same available to the complainant in writing
7. If the committee finds an employee of the Institute involved in sexual harassment of the complaint, then immediately it recommended disciplinary action in the form of dismissal and any other relevant mechanism
8. If the committee finds a student of the Institute is involved in sexual harassment of the complainant, it can recommended disciplinary action in the form of suspension for a specific period of time or expulsion from the institution.
